Reporting to: Chief product officer
Location: Nairobi Kenya, with some travel to Uganda.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The innovation & partnerships manager shapes new product initiatives which lead our client beyond its current suits of product and services. Through internal development and in collaboration with external partners they will shape, develop and launch ideas to deliver on our client’s vision and inform the long term strategy. The role combines understanding of customer needs, strategic vision, commercial acumen and market trends. The role requires close collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
√ Devising and launching innovative initiatives – whether it’s a product extension or a new service entirely, you will own the shaping and delivery to an agreed brief.
√ Partnership pipeline management – identify and manage relationships that will support delivery of the initiatives.
√ Agile Product Design and delivery – you will form a key part of the team working within Product, closely collaborating with the operational lead and tech lead to ensure the new concepts are validated, tested and communicated across the company.
√ Lead a small team of strategic entrepreneurs to deliver tested business ideas into the pipeline. Coach and mentor other team members.

Education, Training and Experience
• BA/BCOM degree required
• 3-5 years relevant work experience
• Experience with implementing or managing account development or sales management processes
• Experience supporting and coaching senior staff in adopting new processes and tools
