Israel’s Innovation BaseCamp to build tech park in Panama – ISRAEL21c
The Panamanian government and Israel’s Innovation BaseCamp company will work together on a state-of-the-art park task targeted at changing Panama into one of Latin America’s leading countries in regards to development.
BaseCamp lagged the development of the Gav Yam Negev modern park in Beersheva and various tasks in other nations. Just recently, BaseCamp has actually taken a role in running Klika Qasem Hub in the Arab-Israeli city of Kfar Qasem, a place for Jewish and Arab Israelis to work together.
Reported in the Israel Defense newsletter, the statement came during the CybertechLive Latin America, an online conference on August 11 sponsored by Israel’s Cybertech for government authorities, market specialists, academics, business and startups from the LATAM area.
“After working and defining preliminary terms of partnership, we’re delighted to announce that BaseCamp and Panama will officially start the cooperation of developing a tech community in Panama,” stated Ramon Martinez de la Guardia, the nation’s minister of commerce and industry.
“Understanding that the future is digital, part of the objective of this administration is to make Panama business hub of the area,” he stated.
Last January, the minister became part of a Panamanian delegation at the Cybertech Global conference in Tel Aviv. They met BaseCamp throughout the conference and went to the Beersheva modern park.
As BaseCamp was trying to find locations in Latin America to develop another tech park, the delegation met with them to go over Panama, according to the minister.
BaseCamp CEO and creator Uzy Zwebner mentioned there were few modern job chances in Beersheva when his company started constructing the park 7 years back. Today the park has about 70 business with an overall of about 3,000 staff members.
“At BaseCamp, we make economic development by development. And we are very pleased to collaborate with Panama’s federal government in order to develop a technology ecosystem based upon a state-of-the-art park that will make Panama a prominent nation in development in Latin America,” he stated.
