Karin Hing and Jonathon Hills are Both Recognised at the Inaugural Queen Mary Research and Innovation Awards: QMUL School of Engineering and Materials Science

Congratulations to Dr Karin Hing who has been awarded the Research Impact (enterprise and commercial innovation) Prize at the Inaugural Queen Mary Research and Innovation Award Ceremony held on the 25th May at the Law Society. Her award was in recognition for her pioneering work on synthetic bone graft substitutes. This work has already gained widespread recognition in 2019 as it was celebrated on one of the six Royal Mail stamps issued commemorating the excellence of British Engineering.

Congratulations also to Jon Hills who was also given the highly commended award for his continuous Excellent Research Support at the same ceremony. The citation notes Jon’s “Commitment to going above and beyond to ensure there is a supportive research environment in SEMS.”
