Position title:                Manager, Service Integration and Innovation – Youth Hub (Selkirk)

Position summary

The Manager, Service Integration and Innovation – Youth Hub will provide clinical support to youth, families, and professionals for an overall improved health status of individuals. The manager will lead the delivery of access to a suite of integrated services in an open, inclusive, engaging, and empowering environment. Focusing on youth ages 12-29 and their families, direct intervention services will include mental health and addiction recovery services, primary care, peer support, and other social services. This position actively supports the development and coordination of services in order to address service gaps, promote mental health awareness and positive outcomes. The Manager will ensure the programs are successfully meeting their mandates while supervising staff, operations, partnerships and future program growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team in order to coordinate a varied and meaningful program of activities and services that have real impact for youth and families
  • Supervise Clinical staff
  • Provide strong leadership for effective program delivery while ensuring best practice standards are operationalized
  • Provide ongoing training, supervising, and coaching staff to achieve/exceed program results
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among program staff
  • Provides Mental Health and Addiction counselling therapeutic Services
  • Promotes and supports individual safety by addressing individual’s safety issues and concerns as they arise
  • Create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall vision and mission statements of Peguis First Nation
  • Collect and maintain youth mental health and other resource information
  • Demonstrate competence in understanding cultural diversity and working effectively with individuals with various cultural backgrounds
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and external person(s), programs, departments and agencies
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required
  • Participate in supervision, staff and program development activities
  • Participate in program and agency meetings and committees
  • Develop materials and presentations that can be sued to reach youth populations
  • Contribute to agency-wide initiatives to advance the mission and vision of the organization
  • Participate in the development and training of a robust data-base

Qualifications

  • This position requires a relevant post-secondary degree in a mental health, social services, social work, or an allied discipline, licenced with applicable professional designation
  • Current, active registration with the applicable licensing body and a member in good standing
  • Over five (5) years direct supervision experience in front line delivery and directly leading and managing teams in a multidisciplinary/integrated team setting
  • Experience in human resource management, performance management, program development, Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) standards and practices, and staff oversight
  • Training in Psychosocial Rehabilitation and experience in delivering recovery orientated services
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders, problematic substance use, harm reduction principles, and child, youth and adult mental health
  • To ensure integrated and coordinate care for youth and families by coordinating human services sectors
  • Experience/strong knowledge of co-production methodologies
  • Ability to develop program proposals and funding requests
  • Knowledge of community resources and the health, mental health, social services, and government service systems
  • Knowledge and experience of Residential Schooling and the impacts of intergenerational affects
  • Knowledge and understanding of common issues faced by youth who have been in-care or formally in-care of Manitoba’s child welfare system
  • Knowledge of the impact of stigma

Accountabilities

  • Establishing and implementing effective health programming and program development
  • Oversee the overall operations, budget and resources of the programs
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to support funding for the programs
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of processes and programs to ensure service quality, efficiency, and alignment with vision and strategic plan
  • Achievement of service goals and expected targets and outcomes
  • Direct report to Executive Director, Peguis Community Programs and Services

Required

  • Clinical experience
  • Valid Manitoba drivers’ licence
  • Computer and data base capabilities
  • Supervisory Skills
  • Applicants must have both a recent satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector check and both child and adult abuse registry checks, along with a valid class 5 drivers’ license and access to a vehicle
