Mecalac takes home gold at the 2023 Plantworx Innovation Awards

Mecalac Construction Equipment UK has taken home gold in the Engineering & Design category at this year’s Plantworx Innovation Awards.

The ceremony, which took place at the East of England Arena & Events Centre (12 June), celebrated innovative companies, products and services that have made a major industry impact over the past 12 months.

Renowned for its innovative design and first-to-market operator technologies, Mecalac was recognised for its all-new Revotruck product. A revolutionary earthmoving concept, Revotruck is a rear dump truck when carrying materials and a highly manoeuvrable site dumper – enabling the operator to face the skip – when loading and unloading.

With the ambition of setting the standards in site safety, Revotruck makes material transport smarter than ever before. Operators can receive a load facing the skip, before rotating the entire cab via a multidirectional joystick to face the direction of travel with no visual obstructions – improving productivity, minimising risk, maximising operator safety.

Perfect for even the tightest sites, operators benefit from three steering modes (2-wheel, 4-wheel and 4-wheel crab), as well as the tightest turning radius on the market. With two load capacity options – six and nine-tonnes – Revotruck is powered by a Stage V-compliant 74hp Perkins turbocharged engine, delivering 380Nm torque @ 1,380rpm.

First unveiled at BAUMA, but with the concept set to be revealed to UK construction professionals at Plantworx, Mecalac is already reporting widespread interest from both the UK and further afield.
