Meet SafeSwap: The latest innovation in the VPN industry – Atlas VPN
We’re excited to introduce SafeSwap, — a brand new Atlas VPN feature that further enhances the anonymity of our users. SafeSwap allows you to have many rotating IP addresses without having to switch between different VPN servers. As of now, we are the first and only VPN provider that offers this functionality.
Unlike regular servers used by other VPN providers that only assign you a single IP address, the SafeSwap servers have a pool of different IP addresses. Once you connect to one of these servers, your outgoing traffic will be routed via multiple IP addresses that will constantly switch for your online sessions without any drop in speed.
This way, it makes it even harder for snoopers, authorities, your Internet Service Provider (ISP), and advertisers to spy on your online activity. Along with our Tracker Blocker feature, it offers an ultimate defense toolkit against trackers and ads.

SafeSwap vs. regular VPN servers
Every device connected to the internet has an Internet Protocol (IP) address, which is a long number often represented as a series of four numbers separated by periods (e.g., 34.126.35.125). IP addresses are essential for online communication, and they help websites identify your computer.
Yet to anyone who sees your IP, it can reveal your city, ZIP, and area codes, as well as your ISP. Media owners like advertisers, online shops, and other websites you visit can also track your online activity based on your IP address.
Let’s look at how SafeSwap servers differ from regular servers in terms of changing your IP address:
Typically, when you connect to a regular VPN server, your internet connection is rerouted through the server of your choice rather than going directly through your ISP. As a result, your actual IP address is hidden from the website you’re trying to access, and a new IP address from a private VPN server is assigned to you.
Let’s say your true IP address is 34.126.35.125. However, you want to safeguard your online privacy by hiding your real IP address, so you connect to a standard VPN server of your choice with IP 193.239.87.36. From now on, as long as you’re connected to that VPN server, all websites you visit will only be able to see the 193.239.87.36 as your IP address.
Meanwhile, if you connect to one of our SafeSwap servers, you will be assigned not one but multiple IP addresses. Consider the following scenario:
You connect to one of Atlas VPN SafeSwap servers and choose to visit the Trip Advisor website (or any other web page), which identifies 193.239.87.36 as your IP address. However, next, you decide to jump to the Netflix page. This time, the page recognizes 185.253.161.134 as your IP address.
Your real IP address will remain hidden as you browse, but the IP address issued to you by the SafeSwap server will change continuously, making your online activity even more difficult to track. Best of all, IP addresses will rotate automatically without you needing to take any extra steps.
How to use SafeSwap?
At the moment, the feature is available for Atlas VPN Android, iOS, and Windows users. We offer three different SafeSwap server location options:
However, we’re working on extending our SafeSwap server selection, as well as releasing the feature on macOS in the near future.
To connect to one of our SafeSwap servers, follow these four simple steps:
Step 1. Slide up the server menu to see the complete Atlas VPN server list (make sure you’re logged into your Atlas VPN account, as this feature is only available to Premium users).
Step 2. Scroll down the server list until you find the SafeSwap server label.
Step 3. Select the SafeSwap server of your choice.
Step 4. That’s it! Now your IP address will continue to rotate automatically while you’re browsing the web as long as you’re connected to one of the SafeSwap servers.
