NATE Statement on U.S. House Passage of the Spectrum Innovation Act
(Washington, D.C.) – NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association today issued the following statement on the passage of the Spectrum Innovation Act legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives:
“NATE applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for passing the Spectrum Innovation Act of 2022 and is grateful for the leadership of Chairman Doyle, Ranking Member Latta and the bill’s additional cosponsors,” said President & CEO Todd Schlekeway.
The Spectrum Innovation Act of 2022 ensures mid-band spectrum is made available for wireless broadband use for the public, which means faster speeds and more responsive networks for consumers. In addition to allowing up to 200 megahertz of spectrum to be auctioned for mobile broadband, this bill would help usher in new, innovative, and flexible spectrum uses.
“NATE members are on the front lines transforming these valuable spectrum airwaves into connectivity for enterprise and consumers. This legislation will allow more industry access to valuable mid-band spectrum which equates to more deployment opportunities for NATE member companies and 5G connectivity for American citizens,” added Schlekeway.
