Nike’s New Shanghai Store Is the Pinnacle of Retail Innovation

Nike has opened a new store in Shanghai, which the brand is calling one its “biggest innovation moments.” The store is called Shanghai 001 and is a House of Innovation — the first of its kind, with a New York City store to follow this fall.

Spanning four stories and 41,150 square feet, it is located in the city’s iconic Nanjing East Road shopping district. What makes Shanghai 001 so special is the selection of hyper-local, exclusive products and gear that shoppers will find in the cross-category store, and the fact that it will be one of the first stores to stock Nike’s latest products such as the LeBron 16 or Air Jordan XXXIII.

In addition, Shanghai 001 will play host to panel sessions, workshops, and other events. The top floor will also feature a Nike by You studio, which provides unique customization opportunities.

NikePlus members can have one-on-one sessions with a designer to customize select shoes, including dip-dye, embroidery, and more.

Check out imagery from the new store above and let us know if you’ll be hitting up Shanghai 001 at some point in the future.

My mum says I won’t win a Pulitzer writing about Supreme. She’s wrong.
