NRMC Announces Director of Innovation Position | Natchitoches Parish Journal

On behalf of NRMC, please join me in welcoming Lance Nelson, as our inaugural Director of Innovation effective April 19. In this role, Mr. Nelson will be responsible for managing short term and long-term projects and processes related to the Organization’s Growth, Innovation, Strategic Alignment and Performance Improvement activities throughout the Healthcare System.

Mr. Nelson assumes this new position within NRMC reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. He will be supporting both senior and system leadership as we strive to deliver exceptional care and services to the communities throughout the Greater Natchitoches Area. Mr. Nelson’s organizational positioning will allow him unrestricted access to all operations of NRMC, including current and envisioned services in order to expedite the project cycle from Concept, Review, Refinement, Implementation.

Since July 2014 and until joining NRMC, Mr. Nelson was the Project and Planning Manager/Lean Manufacturing Manager at Emerson/Alliance Natchitoches, LA where he implemented plant-wide end to end pull system and value change key OEM while ensuring a reduced lead time and a $5 million JIT inventory reduction; facilitated Lean Daily Management Practices; Led 1st ever Trane OEMs Rapid Improvement Event; and implemented and maintained Six Sigma and Lean Operations throughout the supply chain departments to name a few. Prior to his tenure at Emerson, he was Project Manager for MIS at O’Neil Printing, Phoenix, AZ.

Lance obtained his Master of Science in Technology Degree from Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ; and a BA in Multimedia Arts from National University, San Diego, CA where he graduated Cum Laude.

In addition, he holds credentials/Certifications: Certified Green Belt in Six Sigma, and an Emerson Certified Lean Champion, and his PMP from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA.

Lance and his wife Sarah Stewart Nelson are residents of Natchitoches where he has been actively involved in the community volunteering at the Northwestern Louisiana Cancer Foundation, an Ambassador for the Greater Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce and a Member of the Natchitoches Young Professionals.
