NSW: The Innovation State

With over a decade as Official Partner of CeBIT Australia, the NSW Government’s commitment and investment in building a resilient and sustainable economy is once again on display.

CeBIT Australia has played an important role in showcasing the NSW industry’s strengths and this year will bring to the fore NSW’s expertise and leadership in the areas of quantum computing and space technology and services.

Quantum and space encompass technologies that will underpin the future of business across the globe and the NSW Government is paving the way for Australian businesses in those fields.

The Sydney Quantum Academy partnership between the NSW Government, University of NSW, University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney and Macquarie University will cement NSW as a leader in quantum technologies and its position as the home of innovation and a premier destination for global talent.

When it comes to the development of the space industry, NSW is investing in its long term growth through the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, which will align with the 2026 opening of the new Western Sydney Airport. The Australian Space Agency has committed funding to develop space testing and manufacturing facilities at the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, to leverage what will become a centre of excellence for advanced manufacturing.

The relationship between the NSW Government and CeBIT Australia has been mutually beneficial for many years. Through the revamped program, NSW businesses will be able to showcase their capabilities and connect with industry experts, research professionals and global investors.

During CeBIT Australia 2019, the NSW Government is supporting a range of interactive environments to foster creativity and collaboration, including:

NSW Business Lounge – a space for connection and collaboration, the Business Lounge will welcome businesses, international visitors and other attendees to meet, connect and host informal meetings.

Office hours program – CeBIT attendees have the opportunity to book private sessions with a subject matter expert for business advice. These mentors range from investors, marketing companies and Government export advisors through to successful start-ups.

Startup Showcase – Will feature startups sponsored by the NSW Government to participate in Startup Showcase

PitchFest – NSW Government is also sponsoring up to 20 startups to take part in the Pitchfest competition.

The NSW Government is investing in the growth and development of our technology industries through a range of programs, including the Minimum Viable Product grant, the Boosting Business Innovation program and Tech Vouchers.

In addition to these business support programs, the NSW Government is investing in the infrastructure to enable businesses to launch, grow and achieve their potential. The Sydney Startup Hub has been built with innovation and connection at its core and is just one of the reasons that NSW is home to 49% of Australia’s startup companies.

New South Wales— the perfect environment to establish, grow and innovate your business.

The NSW Government is proud to be the Official Partner of CEBIT Australia 2019.
