Ogun Tech Hub, an open living lab and pre-incubation space designed by the Ogun State Government to ignite creative and innovative social tech ventures has been launched by the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The new hub will serve as a place for technologists, tech companies, social entrepreneurs and impact investors to co-create new solutions to the state’s social problems and innovate new technology.
Speaking on the launch of the Hub, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, said his government is partnering with the public and private sector to create opportunities for youth.

Civic Innovation & Media Hub will also work with the Ogun State government as a programs implementation partner for the new tech hub. In an Instagram post, where they explained the nature of the partnership, Civicilab expressed great delight at the launch of the Ogun Tech Hub.
According to news released by state website, Ogun Tech Hub would support individuals and organisations to facilitate creative thinking and collaborative problem solving using the smart application of technology in order to solve commercial and social problems.
The report also said that the hub will serve as a knowledge platform where residents of the state can build new skills, connect, share and solve challenges that can improve the quality of life.
The new tech hub is housed in a re-purposed former college commissioned by an older government as part of the digitalisation drive in the state. The Ogun state government has promised to convert all colleges built across 20 local government areas into technology hubs for young and aspiring technologists.
Abiodun explained that tax payers’ money had been spent on building the facility and that the hubs had potential to benefit the people.
Although the facility being utilized for these Tech Hubs is initially meant for another thing, the fact remains that even when the facility had been largely abandoned and could not be used for initial purpose, we are converting it to the advantage of our dear State.
