Ooredoo partners with education ministry to enable innovation
Ooredoo has announced a digital transformation partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to enable Qatar National Vision 2030’s education innovation and the knowledge-based economy.
This partnership is part of the ministry’s efforts in building long-term relationships with international technology vendors, and supporting Qatar in meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in fostering quality education.
By connecting teachers, students, parents, and educational leaders, the ministry aims to unlock unique learning opportunities and enhance student performance. The ministry can also support the next generation’s expectations for mobile devices, apps, and digital tools.
Teachers can enhance their technological competencies, and students can enhance their scientific research skills. The ministry is also providing a technology-enabled environment that can enhance the educational environment for students with special needs.
Ooredoo chairman HE Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohamed bin Saud al-Thani said, “Our partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education is one of our largest government connectivity projects, and underlines our support for Qatar National Vision 2030’s goals of education innovation. Only Ooredoo can support this large-scale, complex, and critical project, which involves both traditional and modern connectivity.”
In particular, Ooredoo is elevating the connectivity at the Ministry’s more than 245 public schools and some 76 kindergartens. Ooredoo is refreshing the existing Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure and upgrading the Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure to meet the digital requirements of Qatar’s current and future educational system.
HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi said, “Our partnership with Ooredoo is driving better connectivity, more creativity, and the best educational environment fostering innovative learning, teaching, and leadership.
“With high-speed connectivity across Qatar’s schools and kindergartens, we are opening more doors for knowledge, expanded prospects for learning, and borderless innovation and learning.”
