President Uhuru Kenyatta welcomed the announcement by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to establish an innovation and entrepreneurship hub in Kenya.

The announcement is part of the outcome of President Kenyatta’s bilateral talks with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. .

Following talks during the President’s working visit to the United Arab Emirates, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces directed the Khalifa Fund for Business Development to establish an innovation center and entrepreneurship in Kenya.

“Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development has announced its plan to establish an innovation and entrepreneurship in the Republic of Kenya. ”, indicated a press release from the official news agency of the Emirates.

The center for innovation and entrepreneurship will focus on launching programs, workshops and initiatives geared towards providing guidance to aspiring and established Kenyan entrepreneurs on how they can inject innovation into their entrepreneurial endeavors to boost the national economy.

According to the Khalifa Fund and Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development Chairman Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s directive to establish a center for technology-focused innovation and entrepreneurship in Kenya is part of the UAE’s ongoing commitment to contribute to the empowerment of talented innovators and entrepreneurs around the world.

“With centers like these, we provide entrepreneurs with resources, support and guidance to contribute to their local and global economy, generating positive economic implications and security,” Al Hammadi said.

He added: “This collaboration between the UAE and Kenya will see the two respective nations implement Khalifa Fund’s successful model in the new innovation and entrepreneurship hub with the aim of mirroring the same levels of achievement in Kenya that have been experienced in the United Arab Emirates”.

Al Hammadi said that the Khalifa Fund, which was recently recognized as the best in the world by the Global Monitoring Index, is committed to similarly improving and uplifting Kenya to help create job opportunities for Kenyans.
