Interestingly, whilst Metrikus was founded only in 2019, the concept for the business was born many years before during the London Olympic Games.
Whilst an asset manager was working on the construction of the London Olympic Park, he realised there was a real need for assets to be managed more effectively. After being tasked with allocating CCTV to different areas of the park, this led to him creating a live map to show the location and status of CCTV cameras.
This led to not only saving engineers time, but also meant managers could make better more informed and ultimately at bigger cost savings. This was also the birth of asset mapping.
Today, Metrikus is known for a variety of services such as occupancy and capacity monitoring which allows users to analyse how individuals are moving through the workplace. Other functions include being able to monitor indoor air quality and healthcare solutions that optimise medicine fridges with continuous and accurate temperature monitoring.
