Sen. Corlatean, at launch of Vei Inova! book: It illustrates State of Israel’s extraordinary technological innovation capacity – Stiri pe surse – Cele mai noi stiri
The Israeli writer Avi Jorisch launched, on Monday, in the foyer of the Senate plenary hall, his volume Vei Inova/You Will Innovate! The way Israeli Ingenuity Improves the World, an event organized by the president of the Committee for Foreign Policy, Titus Corlatean, a volume that shows the ability to “extraordinary” technological innovation of the State of Israel, in various fields, to guarantee peace and save human lives in an “extremely complicated” regional context.
“This volume reproduces the extraordinary technological innovation capacity of the State of Israel, in various civil and military fields. On the other hand, it is a volume that represents and reproduces a paradoxical reality, the innovation capacity to build, to guarantee peace, to save human lives in an extremely complicated regional context in the Middle East, in a country like Israel, which lives in an extremely complicated region for the nation of the State of Israel, but which, there, it is able to produce solutions to save lives, to produce scientific, technological – economic innovation. This event would not have taken place without the special contribution of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Bucharest, and I am referring here both to the current ambassador Reuven Azar, and to the ambassador of the State of Israel in the previous mandate, I mean David Saranga,” Titus Corlatean said, at the opening of the event.
He added that the volume is also a book of love, because a state is capable of producing “extraordinary” solutions aimed at human nature, saving human lives and progress.
When I came to Romania, I noticed that there are many similarities between the history of the Jewish people and the history of the Romanian people, because this territory, like the territory inhabited by Israel today, was invaded by many other great powers. But both the people of Israel, the Jewish people, as well as the Romanian people, managed to maintain their identity, although they did not always have effective control of the territory. We have something else in common, besides this, it is a sentence (…): Love your neighbour as you love yourself, this is the essence of Judaism and the essence of Judeo-Christian values. Therefore, in everything we do, we must not think about what we can do for our own benefit, but also how we can help others and how we could fix the world. This is what this book is about,” said the ambassador of the State of Israel in Bucharest, Reuven Azar.
The author of the volume, Avi Jorich, told the audience that the basis of his book is the investigation of the secret of Israeli innovation, a success from which Romania can also get inspired.
The secret of the book is that the secret of Israeli innovation is investigated. And if you wonder what Romania can do with an Israeli innovation, I tell you to read the book and see how you can borrow to let yourselves inspired by the Israeli success (…). I discovered that the executives of the companies I approached for the book didn’t just want to make money, they wanted to make the world a better place. And I discovered that the innovations in this book, numbering 15, help heal the sick, help feed the hungry, seek to support the poor and even uplift the world and make it a better place. This is a country that invites you to be stronger with it, as the ambassador often tells us, we can be stronger together ( …). I invite you, in a moment of imagination, to close your eyes and try to imagine the year 2030, because the world will fundamentally change in the next eight years (…). The major diseases that affect the neurological systems will be gone, most cancers will be cured, by 2030 we will reach renewable energy and we will have autonomous vehicles, we will have people on the moon and on the way to Mars in 2030. And at that moment, a computer will work faster than the human mind, for the first time in history. I will tell you one more statistics (…). Recorded history is approximately 5,000 years old, in 78 years, respectively in 2100, we will cumulatively experience 20,000 changes in humanity (…). We have both the challenge and the opportunity to manage, to face the greatest challenges that humanity will be confronted with, and we truly live in a time when these very great challenges, the greatest, will be able to be solved, Jorich said.
Mihaela Moza, from the Elpis publishing house in northwestern Oradea, said that the title of the volume is very direct, a book that not only proposes an idea, but also has solutions to life’s problems.
The event was attended by members of the Government, ambassadors, members of the Parliament, people from civil society, from cultural circles, as well as representatives of the Jewish community in Romania.AGERPRES
