Spikes Asia 2019: Six Entries from Australia, Thailand, South Korea, and Singapore Shortlisted for Innovation Spikes
Suntec, SINGAPORE – Spikes Asia has released the Innovation Shortlist ahead of the festival. Six entries have made it to the shortlist; two of which are from Australia, another two from South Korea and one each from Thailand and Singapore.
The Innovation Spikes remains a prestigious award which celebrates ground-breaking innovation and technological solutions and problem solving.
One of the entries that were shortlisted out of the 28 entries is Naked Communications’ ‘Sans Forgetica,’ the first font that improves memory retention. Applying psychological theory and design theory into the font,
TBWA\SINGAPORE’s ‘City of Possibilities’ is a physical model that features eight well-known landmarks and points of interest in Marina Bay and Sentosa, Gardens By The Bay, Marina Bay Sands, National Gallery, Siloso Beach, Merlion Park, Esplanade, Resorts World Sentosa, and Raffles Hotel. Its inventive aspect is that it also acts as a console to bring users on a virtual tour around the location using two physical avatars to navigate the area and control the tour.
Deloitte Australia’s ‘H2.0‘ has also made it into the shortlist under the sub-category Early Stage Technology.
Innored Seoul’s ‘Too Far to Walk‘ for Healcerion got shortlisted under Business Transformation sub-category.
Another shortlisted work from South Korea is Innocean Worldwide’s ‘The Quiet Taxi,‘ which tells the story of Seoul’s first hearing impaired driver Lee Dae Ho and the technology of Hyundai’s audio-visual compensation to aid hearing impaired cab drivers.
The entrants will showcase their works live to the Innovation jury on September 26, the second day of Spikes, which will be held at Suntec, Singapore.
