A Look at Our Software and Engineering Pre-Professional Pathway
The curriculum at R-MA is designed to equip students with skills that are applicable to the modern professional landscape. Software engineers are in high demand in almost every industry around the world. With this in mind, the Software and Engineering Pathway is available to upper school students who opt for our Pre-Professional programs.
The program supplies a solid foundation in the broad field of software and engineering that goes beyond the basics of learning how to code. In an interactive setting, students learn how to apply essential skills such as problem solving, logic, communication, collaboration, and creativity to the use of modern technology. Your support furthers our efforts to provide a challenging and cutting-edge education for students in an evolving technological world.
Growing Our Aviation Initiatives
There are numerous career opportunities in the aviation industry today for the creation, development, and navigation of both manned and unmanned aircrafts. The Aviation Pre-Professional Pathway at R-MA gives students unique exposure to the mechanisms of flight, and a head start for further education in the field.
The Air Force Junior ROTC program offers a forward-thinking curriculum that covers principles of aircraft flight and navigation, space programs and technology, rocketry, and the aerospace industry. Students can take advantage of experiential learning opportunities that feature state-of-the-art technology – including our flight lab, flight simulator, and R-MA’s own Cessna airplanes. Middle School students also have an early introduction to these skills and resources by participating in R-MA’s flight club one day a month for the duration of the school year.
Quality Tech Resources for Our Students
At both the Middle and Upper School, R-MA provides access to the latest equipment to support the education of our students. At the Middle School level, our Robotics course teaches core computer programming logic in a robotic engineering context that’s designed to mimic an interactive robotics competition. To supplement the course, students have access to 3D printers, OZOBOTS, drones, EV3 robots, and much more. With first-hand experience using technological resources, students learn the programming and computing concepts using block-based and text-based programming.
At the Upper School level, our Computer Science course teaches the fundamentals of computer programming, as well as robotics. Students get comfortable using reputable computer programming languages, such as Java, and have opportunities to explore hardware, software, and networks through robotics. With the right knowledge and practical experience, our graduates are prepared for success in further education and beyond.
