Taiwan’s digital minister to speak at Civic Tech Innovation Network forum in Joburg
Taiwan’s Digital Minister Audrey Tang will speak at a three-day forum next week in Johannesburg hosted by The Civic Tech Innovation Network (CTIN). The forum aims to bring together SA’s civic tech community.
The forum, which will be held at the city’s Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct from next Wednesday to Friday (18 to 2o March), intends to bring together both governmental and non-governmental for the purpose of sharing, learning, inspiring, and overall capability building.
Tang is a civic hacker and heads up the government’s social entrepreneurship and open government initiatives. She is known for revitalising global open-source communities such as Perl and Haskell.
The two-day programme includes collaborative workshop sessions on the what, how, and what next of civic tech, as well as a civic tech bootcamp for those who are new to the field.
The Civic Tech Innovation Network forum takes place on 18 and 19 March at the Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct
There will also be a social and networking event on the evening of 19 March from 6pm to 10pm at the Wits Theatre.
