Tune in to innovation: Spark TV Episode 2 is go! – Les Roches
Hop on board the ultra-fast transport of the future; find out how movies, TV shows and Instagram influencers are giving us inspiration to travel; see how you can get gourmet food cooked in your home; and discover how to access new experiences at the swipe of a finger… it’s all in Episode 2 of Spark TV!
The new episode kicks off with a look at how our travel decisions are being more and more influenced by the content we consume when we go to the movies, watch TV or are whiling away the hours on social media – especially Instagram.
We reveal some of the global destinations which are profiting most from this trend, and we spotlight a Swiss hotel which came up with an innovative concept to draw in selfie-crazed social media addicts!
Spark TV next takes a look at an app called Lemonade Social, which was co-founded by Les Roches alumna Ipshita Kumar. Lemonade Social promises to hook you up with exciting new experiences, from festivals to exhibitions, while also giving creators a platform to find a like-minded audience.
More Les Roches-bred innovation has gone into Searchef, a start-up which brings gastronomic and mixology experiences direct to your home. We’re providing incubation support to Searchef through Spark; and its founder, and current Les Roches MBA student, José Luis Egas, joined the show to tell us more about his bright idea.
Last but not least, we look at the revolutionary travel technology which is hyperloop. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because it came from none other than Elon Musk. Now, some eight years after the tech visionary first coined it, hyperloop is gathering pace as a practical solution for ultra-fast transportation. We take a look at how hyperloop works, and feature Spark partner Nevomo, which has a plan to merge hyperloop and conventional railway technology to double current speeds, and with passenger facilities that could be inspired by Les Roches students.
We’ll be back with another episode of Spark TV in around three months. If you have an innovation focused topic you’d like us to cover, or any feedback on this second episode, feel free to drop us a line at [email protected]
