Urmi Group wins Bangladesh Innovation Award 2023
Fakhruddin Textile Mills Ltd of Urmi Group achieved both the winning and runner-up trophies of 5th Bangladesh Innovation Award 2023. It became the ‘Winner’ for the innovation ‘ERP Integrated RFID Solution’ in the apparel and fashion category of the award, while it also achieved the ‘Honorable Mention’ in the same category for its ‘Seamless Technology’.
Directors of Urmi Group Shamarukh Fakhruddin and Faiaz Rahman received the awards in the ceremony.
Urmi Group is a leader and a pioneer in innovation and automation. Recently, Urmi Group secured runners-up in RFID journal 2022 in the category of Best Manufacturing RFID/IoT Implementation. The Group also has been awarded Digital Bangladesh Award 2022 in the category “Technical – Private (Best Team)” for its exemplary leadership in innovation by implementing an RFID system to track the movement of yarn and grey rolls in its textile facility Fakhruddin Textile Mills Ltd.

This year, 49 innovations received Bangladesh Innovation Award. While, more than 300 nominations from over 100 organizations were submitted for the award in 21 categories this year. The event was organized by Bangladesh Brand Forum and Honorable State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, was the Chief Guest of the event.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, “This year the fest is designed to pursue the roadmap for the honorable Prime Minister’s vision of SMART Bangladesh by 2041.
