VIVATECH – #TECH4GOOD – THE ALL INCLUSIVE INNOVATION

Paris, 16. – 18.May 2019

For its 4. edition, Vivatech – the European rendezvous for innovation – continues through Tech4Good the quest for meaning in Tech innovation. The goal is to consider it as a tool to serve the common good. In this sense, the show chose to identify startups that have a positive impact on society and our planet.

Carlin

Focus on startups who have marked us for their humanity, grouped around the all-inclusive movement increasingly present in our societies:

INNOVATION ALL INCLUSIVE

IMPROVED MOTRICITY

TWIICE

A solution to help paraplegic people get up, walk and even climb stairs. The startup has designed a modular limb exoskeleton that is customizable to each person’s morphology and pathology. To ensure a user-friendly device, the team collaborated with Silke Pan, a para-cycling handcycle athlete.

GYROLIFT

First mobility device based on a Segway, Gyrolift allows people with reduced mobility the opportunity to move standing or sitting. An application allows its pilot to move from a sitting position to a vertical position almost standing, convenient to catch an object in height. “Go-anywhere” and lighter than a classic electric wheelchair, its innovative design takes its user from the clichés of the handicap.

HOOBOX – Wheelie 7

Brazilian start-up Hoobox Robotics has worked with Intel to create an adapter kit that allows almost all electric wheelchairs to be controlled by the user’s facial expressions. The Wheelie 7 kit equips a wheelchair with an artificial intelligence to detect the user’s expressions – smile, raise the eyebrows, crease the nose or frown the lips as a kiss – to guide the movement of the chair.

ACCESS TO READING AND GAMES

LEXILIGHT

Dyslexia affects an average of three children per class. This learning disability in written language often leads to difficulties in school and a loss of self-confidence. When reading, an image is superimposed on the text, creating a mirror effect and complicating deciphering. Lexilight is a reading aid for dyslexics. Its technology, which combines both pulsed and modulated light, can erase this mirror effect. It improves the reading quality of almost all dyslexics.
