We’re looking for Canada’s leading Social R&D projects – Social Innovation Canada

We need your help to tell the stories of organizations, individuals and governments who are doing amazing work in Social R&D in Canada under the radar.

Social R&D is a growing field enabling organizations to leverage a range of research and development approaches to help tackle social challenges and serve communities

We want to share how Canadian organizations are using these practices and approaches to advance their own work: improving their programs, outcomes and the lives of their communities. We’re looking for case studies that are:

If you are working to benefit your community through Social R&D processes such as Social Labs, Prototyping, Data Measurement, Mapping, Ethnography, Human-Centred Design or Behavioural Insights, we’d love to help you tell the story of how these efforts are making a difference. We are offering five grants of $5,000 to help you tell your story and share your learnings: successes, failures and insights in your efforts to advance your work through Social R&D. This funding can cover any storytelling and documentation needs. We will work with successful grant recipients with a shared approach to documenting case studies for Social R&D work. Case studies can be written, audio or video, in French and English. 

This opportunity is open to social purpose organizations (including non-profit, charities or for-profit social enterprise), as well as informal grassroots groups.

We will select grantees and will prioritize initiatives taking on new and difficult challenges, equity-seeking projects, and those identifying systems changes (new policies, resource flows, routines, belief systems.
