Winners of the 2019 BCX Digital Innovation Awards announced | ITWeb

Following the launch of the inaugural 2019 BCX Digital Innovation Awards in July this year, the final category award winners and runners up were announced on 7 November at the much-anticipated Sunday Times Top 100 awards.

Comprising both a corporate and SME category, final award winners and runners up were as follows:

Digital Innovation Awards Corporate Category:

Concept: Awarded for Digital Innovation in Robotics and Cognitive Automation
Company: Head of R&D: Cognitive Automation and AI, Old Mutual Limited

Concept: Awarded for Digital Innovation in Mobile Banking Application Development.
Company: Head of Business Development, Old Mutual Finance

Concept: Awarded for Digital Innovation in Advanced Threat Protection and Cybersecurity
Company: Acting Chief Information Security Officer, Old Mutual Limited

Digital Innovation Awards SME Category:

Concept: Awarded for Digital Innovation in Automated Biometric Digital Authentication Technology.
Company: iiDENTIFii

Concept: Awarded for Digital Innovation in Business Connectivity Marketplace and Platform Development.
Company: Managing Director, Pindrop

Concept: Awarded for Digital Innovation in Maintenance Repair and Operations Platform Development.
Company: Bramhope Group

Aimed at recognising South African companies for their excellence in digital innovation, the awards acknowledge not only organisations who have taken up the flag to transform their businesses through technological advancements and digital transformation, but also those who have contributed to the economic well-being of South Africa through either incremental or disruptive innovation.

Old Mutual Limited Kusheel Amritlall – first place winner corporate

Final category winners and runners up were singled out following a tightly contested BCX Digital Warriors Challenger, which took place in Midrand on 28 and 29 October 2019. Here the top three shortlisted stand-out businesses that significantly contributed to the two innovation areas under review by the judging panel, were put through their paces, fighting it out for first, second and third place in their respective categories.
