The proclamation, signed by Mayor Miguel A. Romero Lugo Alcalde, states, “the government of the city of San Juan recognizes and is proud of this innovative company, Wovenware, and we appreciate its great contribution to the advancement of technology. Since its founding in San Juan in February 2003 by Boricuas Christian Gonzalez and Carlos Melendez, Wovenware has broken barriers in the development of software and AI solutions custom-designed to meet the specific needs of companies in Puerto Rico and beyond.” We’re honored to receive this proclamation from the esteemed mayor of San Juan. From our founding, we’ve remained committed to fostering a culture of technology innovation and growth across Puerto Rico and establishing the island as a key business destination for software, AI and geospatial intelligence solutions. As we reflect on this proclamation, we also look back on our accomplishments throughout the past year. Key Wovenware 2023 Milestones Geospatial Intelligence Innovation: Wovenware has made major inroads in applying AI to geospatial data to revolutionize earth and space intelligence for a variety of Maxar Intelligence clients. From UI design and full-stack software delivery, to producing large-volume machine learning training datasets, Wovenware has created numerous automated object detection models optimized for Maxar’s high-resolution satellite imagery and applied toward government and commercial missions. Workforce expansion: Wovenware added new jobs to the local economy in 2023, expanding its team of software engineers, data scientists, software testers, digital specialists and other strategic positions. In 2024, Wovenware will continue to invest in new technology talent, as well as its existing staff, offering advanced training, certification and professional growth for team members. Growing client base: Wovenware also remained committed to delivering advanced machine learning, computer vision and other AI solutions, as well as mobile apps and software modernization solutions to new and existing clients in 2023. In one project, Wovenware helped a leading insurance provider achieve Medicaid data reporting compliance and capture $1.2 million in federal reimbursement funds. Center of AI excellence: As the U.S. government announced the designation of new tech hubs in key regions across the U.S., including Puerto Rico, Wovenware also made great inroads in establishing itself as a center of AI excellence in Puerto Rico. Through academic partnerships and participation in key economic development organizations, Wovenware attracted interest in the island as a prime destination for tech innovation and took additional steps to foster a climate of technology excellence and to nurture the next generation of tech talent.
