Wyclef Jean Establishes A Technology And Innovation Hub In Nigeria To Transform Creative Industries Renowned Haitian rapper and investor Wyclef Jean has partnered with Caribbean International Commerce (CICH) to establish a technology and infrastructure hub in Nigeria. The initiative is set to catalyze economic empowerment, sustainability, and technological innovation in the North of Nigeria. The Partnership This partnership aims to create a symphony of innovation, combining state-of-the-art music and movie studios with a commitment to eco-friendly practices and equitable wealth distribution in commodity markets. After securing over 4,000 hectares in Plateau State for the development of this hub, Jean and CICH aim to have the tech hub as a creative incubator for emerging talents. According to a news release, the project will leverage Energy Glass Solar ™ technology and sustainable building practices, demonstrating a commitment to environmental stewardship. The tech hub will offer access to world-class studios and catalyze the evolution of Nigeria’s music and film industry. Wyclef Jean, a three-time Grammy winner, emphasizes the fusion of art, tech, and commerce, calling it the “music of innovation” that will bring the world closer to the music of Nigeria. Introducing NiDax Besides the creative industries, the hub will introduce NiDax – a novel financial paradigm for equitable access to commodity markets. NiDax manufacturing facilities and eco-friendly housing developments planned in phase two aim to support job creation and local industry development, fostering a greener and healthier community. “This partnership represents a fusion of creativity, sustainability, and economic empowerment. We’re bringing the music of innovation to the world, and the world to the music of Nigeria,” Jean stated, according to a news release. “Together, we’re creating harmony in both art and commerce, setting a new standard for a brighter, greener future.” Future Prospects Wyclef Jean’s commitment to this project extends beyond the hub’s development, as he is scheduled to participate in the Incredible Music Festival in Jos in early 2024. He will collaborate with Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga (MI). MI, who advises the Plateau state governor on entertainment and creativity, will play a significant role in realizing this ambitious project.
