Engaging More Women in Academic Innovation
This year marks the third year that SWE has recognized members who have been awarded a patent. While the list may look long, there is no denying that women are still significantly underrepresented among patent recipients. The AUTM Women Inventors Special Interest Group recently conducted a survey to better understand why women are not better represented in innovation, intention, and entrepreneurship, offering recommendations and insights on actions that technology transfer professionals and policy makers can take to address systemic barriers and encourage more engagement from underrepresented groups.
