Evian & Virgil Abloh Reveal Their Latest Limited Collaboration With a Sustainability-Focused Innovation Program
Following their recent exclusive bottle and bag boxed set released at Barneys New York Japan earlier this year, Evian and Virgil Abloh have joined forces once again for a new limited edition collection. Dubbed “Activate Movement,” it also contributes to taking another step to saving the planet with a sustainability-focused competition for young designers.Arriving with an exclusive 750 mL glass bottle and Evian’s SOMA refillable bottles in two colorways, “Activate Movement” items are adorned with droplets, which symbolize the power of every small action that can create positive change. Along with the collaborative pieces, Evian is also launching the Activate Movement Program, which is a design competition for designers aged 18 to 35.“I believe that every little thing you do can change the status quo. That’s what inspired the ‘Activate Movement’ collection because a single drop can be the starting point of positive change. Every idea has to start somewhere, so we were thinking what if we could create that place? A place to empower the new generation,” the Off-White™ designer and Evian’s Creative Advisor for Sustainable Innovation Design stated in an official press release. The program’s applicants will get a chance to win a €50,000 EUR (approximately $54,746 USD) grant for sustainability-focused design and innovation projects, and entries will be judged by Virgil Abloh along with an Evian representative and an expert panel.Take a close-up look at the new Virgil Abloh x Evian items in the gallery above, and head over to Evian’s website to read more about the Activate Movement Program. For more on sustainability, check out Nike’s eco-conscious items created for Team USA’s medal ceremonies for the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
