Launch of the Innovation Awards

The launch of the third annual Innovation Awards is taking place on Thursday, 9 February from 6pm at the Millennium Point in Birmingham. The awards recognise, celebrate and reward businesses, organisations and individuals all dedicated to innovation.

On 9 February, nominations open and the search begins for the most innovative manufacturing, engineering, tech and services companies as well as the female, male and young innovators of the year. A new category for this year recognises innovation in the third sector, with the ‘Community Innovator of the Year’ award.

Companies, universities and organisations who support these businesses will be recognised through the innovation champion and innovation thought leader awards. Innovation is vital to the success of businesses and prosperity of the UK. These awards recognise those who have developed new products, new services or new internal processes, including manufacturers, engineers, technology and service providers such as marketing agencies, accountants, consultants, PR firms and so on.

Finalists will be assessed by an independent judging panel consisting of industry experts from universities, companies and key organisations. The Innovation Awards are kindly sponsored by grants and tax specialists, Catax.

“It is amazing the amount of innovation that occurs across the UK.  These awards are an opportunity to recognise the innovators who drive the UK forward and the businesses, universities and other organisations that support them,” commented Paul Cadman, Professor of Entrepreneurship at BCU.
