RSNA becomes spoke in ARPA-H healthcare innovation hub
The RSNA has been designated as a spoke in the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Experience Hub. In its role as a spoke, RSNA can serve as a resource to ARPA-H performers focused on designing and developing imaging-related tools and platforms to accelerate health futures. ARPA-H is a new federal health research and development (R&D) organization within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The ARPA-H embraces novel public/private partnership arrangements to address systemic challenges across the health landscape, according to its newest strategic plan. In September 2023, the Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center (MIDRC) was selected as one of several performers for the ARPA-H Biomedical Data Fabric (BDF) Toolbox. Hosted by the University of Chicago and a collaborative effort between RSNA, the American College of Radiology, and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, MIDRC will provide domain expertise and data commons technology development in medical imaging. It will also assist with the development and deployment of medical imaging data commons architectures and resources to support various diseases and applications for the Biomedical Data Fabric Toolbox.
